En Corée du Sud, une récente étude relayée par l'AFP constate que 47,3 % des internautes coréens téléchargent des films piratés sur le Net. Des chiffres qui font mauvaise figure, dans l'un des pays les mieux connectés du monde.
Le sondage portait sur 2358 internautes coréens âgés entre 15 et 49 ans. Presque la moitié d'entre eux avoue avoir téléchargé illégalement au moins un film durant l'année passée, gratuitement ou pour moins de 10 centimes d'euros. La marge d'erreur de l'étude du Korean Film Council est évaluée à plus ou moins 2 %.
32,7 % des internautes ayant téléchargé des films piratés expliquent le faire pour des raisons d'argent, 20,9 % mentionnent plutôt des raisons de temps et de flexibilité. 28 % des internautes coréens expliquent en revanche n'avoir jamais piraté de film sur le Net car la manipulation leur apparaît trop compliquée, 18 % à cause de leur peur de récupérer un virus, et seulement 12 % expliquent ne pas vouloir violer les droits de propriété intellectuelle des auteurs.
Face à un éventuel renforcement de la régulation antipirate, 34,3 % des sondés ont expliqué qu'ils retourneraient plus souvent au cinéma, 16,1 % affirment qu'ils s'abonneront à un service légal de téléchargement, et 7,5 % prévoient toujours de télécharger illégalement des films. Un appel au bâton du cybergendarme ?
